Inflammation is a physical condition in which a part of our body gets swollen or reddened, causing acute or chronic pain. It is a vital part of the process through which our immune system responds to injuries. Any degree of bruise or injury can cause inflammation. It’s a pretty standard thing considering the vulnerability of the human body. Acute inflammation shouldn’t bother you, but the chronic will. An excellent anti-inflammatory diet or exercise can provide significant relief. However, it may not prove to be a complete solution. Anti-inflammatory drugs may give instant relief, but may not for a longer period. A combination of all three may cure inflammation and put an end to it. In case you find these measures challenging to uphold for a long time, there is an alternative as well. It’s Cannabidiol.

Origin of CBD or Cannabidiol –

Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the 113 identified cannabinoids found in the Cannabis plant. It is generally used for treating various physical and cognitive problems, including anxiety, inflammation, depression, irregular sleep, etc. CBD occupies 40% of the plant’s extract. CBD causes no psychoactive effects, which is loosely termed as getting ‘high.’ It’s THC, another cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant that makes stoners feel ‘high.’

How CBD works?

CBD, being a cannabinoid, binds with the endocannabinoid receptors found in the human body. Our Endocannabinoid System (ECS) itself produces endocannabinoids in a limited quantity. The two endocannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 are found throughout our Central and Peripheral Nervous System. While CB1 receptors are found predominantly in the Central Nervous System, CB2 receptors are mainly active in the Immune System. CBD binds more with the CB2 receptor and helps our immune system in healing or repairing damages occurred inside the body. On the other hand, THC binds dominantly with the CB1 receptor resulting in ‘high’ feeling.

Things you should know before using CBD products –

Not all CBD products are legal in the United States. CBD extracted directly from the Cannabis plant is still prohibited in the country. However, the usage of CBD extracted from hemp is completely legal, thanks to Farm Bill 2018. Some people may argue what the difference between these two is? Hemp is just one strain of the Cannabis plant, which means it contains a minimal THC. CBD extracted from the industrial hemp contains only 0.003% THC, and that’s why it doesn’t cause any psychoactive effects.

Which CBD product you should use and where to find it?

A variety of CBD infused products such as chocolates, oil, cream, gel, etc. can be easily found over the internet. CBD products are widely available in selected online stores. Researchers have found that CBD oil can help in reducing inflammation and providing relief from pain. Timely usage of CBD oil can act immediately to provide relief from pain and improve body condition. Though there are a few online stores where CBD oil can be purchased, how authentic they are is a thing to research.
